Carle Place, NY - Dec 16, 2012 - The Marsid M&M Group (http://www.mmprint.com), a leading provider of printing, graphics, mailing and fulfillment services, is proud to announce today a Holiday Food Drive to help collect food for approximately  300,000 Long Islanders at risk of hunger of which  110,000 of them are children.

The Long Island based printing company has made available a food drive box in the lobby of their main office at 245 Westbury Avenue, Carle Place NY  11514, adjacent to the Carle Place Post Office where local businesses and residents can donate canned and packaged goods simply by dropping them in the box.

Barry Caputo, Co-owner at The Marsid M&M Group, stated " As Long Islanders, we all have a duty to help our community grow and improve.  As long as there is hunger in our cities, growth will be a challenge... but there's always room for improvement. We welcome everyone in the area to stop by and drop off a can or two of food. "

"In the 2012 Christmas season the whole company split into 4 groups where one group made a monetary donation to The Inn social service agency. The second group collected canned food and packaged goods for the Inn, the third group purchased and delivered toys to the children of a family in need who were recommended by St. Brigid's Church of Westbury.

The very last group volunteered for a day at St. Vincent's Church in Suffolk on Christmas Eve to feed hungry families and distributed gift cards to local restaurants... This year we want to make a bigger difference and involve the entire community." said Sid Halpern, co-owner at The Marsid M&M Group.

The opportunity for this food drive came as a result of the company's business relationship with Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. "We're very familiar with the Island Harvest name and what they do since we print a lot of their materials. It only made sense to ask how we could help." explained Giovanni Jaramillo, Marsid M&M's marketing director.

Donations are welcome 8:30am through 5pm Monday through Friday. The last day for drop offs will be at 3pm December 20th, 2013. If you wish to donate after this time, feel free to contact Island Harvest directly as they collect food and donations throughout the year.
